Made by Emblem picks up some wins

We're thrilled to announce that Made by Emblem has won the Award of Excellence in Public Service from Communication Arts for our outstanding brand identity work for the 2024 National Magazine Awards. This project, led by our talented junior graphic designer, Christina Kim, marks her first self-directed project since joining our team last year.

“I developed the National Magazine Awards identity this year as an ode to typographic language and focusing on highlighting the stars of Canadian Journalism and creativity. I was (nervously!) determined to make a visual identity that would honour the prestige of the National Media Awards Foundation and all of the incredible people that contribute to the world of magazines today.

I am so proud that our team won a Communication Arts Award of Excellence for this project, and we’re thankful to the judges for considering us amongst a plethora of talent. Huzzah!”

Additionally, our project for I Am Toronto Pearson has been honoured with recognition from the PRINT Awards in the Outdoor & Billboards category. Since launching last year, the project has gained international recognition, making appearances on publications like Strategy, Brand New, and World Brand Design Society. Associate Creative Director Joshua Duchesne led this project that aims to recognize and celebrate the 50,000 employees at the Toronto Pearson Airport.

“Our work with Toronto Pearson turned into a project that we a took a deep and personal investment in. After meeting and shooting countless proud and interesting people, our idea of celebrating employees as people and elevating them to heroes became easy to capture.

Personally, I’m so proud and pleased that a project that exemplifies the person-focused and concept-driven nature of our studio received industry recognition.”
